Contemplative Earth-Care: A Study on Belonging, Grief, and Becoming-with the More-than-Human World

Overview: This community-rooted research explores how contemplative practices — like meditation, mindfulness, yoga, and other mind-body-spirit practices — can support deeper ecological connection and care in the midst of planetary instability and change. It invites participants into a shared and soulful inquiry: What becomes possible when we slow down and listen to the Earth with our whole selves? And what resources, practices, and strategies are vital to help us individually and collectively meet the complexities of these times?

We are currently recruiting! If you feel drawn, please read on...

Rooted in deep commitments to social and ecological care, this study honors the emotional and spiritual dimensions of climate distress while cultivating space for new forms of relational healing, ecological imagination, and collective transformation. This is not a study on ‘coping’ with climate change. It is a study on remembering: a gathering of threads — emotional, ancestral, ecological, somatic — that help us remember we belong to something much deeper and more resplendent than extractive systems and supremacist logics allow.

Participants engage through one-on-one dialogue, embodied reflection, and creative journaling — sharing their wisdom and practice insight to help nurture seeds of understanding for more grounded, grief-literate, and Earth-honoring ways of being. This project is part of my doctoral research and reflects a commitment to community-based, heart-centered, and embodied, more-than-human methodologies of both inquiry and change. I would be honored to connect with you.
